No, fan control does not work on the installed system and it too freezes constantly because of it. This machine dual-boots into Win XP, where the fans do work, so I'm sure it's not broken hardware. Unfortunately after all my googling I still haven't a clue what is necessary to get this to work. I'll keep searching since I desperately want Debian on this brand new laptop and I'll report back if I come across a solution.
