I talked with Sjoerd about this a few minutes ago. It seems that the cause is the resampling of 48kHz to 44.1kHz. I've set it to 'trival' before but seemed to have forgotten to remove the semi-colon in front of it :), so I discarded that solution. Anyway... CPU usage is now down to 3-8%, which is much better, thanks. Since I do not consider my computer considerably slow (PowerBook G4/867), you might want to mention this aswell in README.Debian next to the pulse-rt stuff?
