Package: apt-mirror
Version: 0.4.4-4
Severity: wishlist

It would be handy if apt-mirror could be called with a command-line
option, e.g. --check-download, which only downloads the index files
and reports the size of the mirroring.

This way it would be possible to setup an automated system which only
starts mirroring if a certain treshold is passed.

If you wonder why this is nice, I have a local mirror which is updated
daily, but in the past I could get by with about 200 Mb a day. Since
the release was announced, downloads are bigger and have not enough
bandwidth anymore.

This could help alleviate my problem.
