ok - i'm just checking with phil, who basically is telling me 'stop
being an ass and tell the nice guy that it's a bug, not a policy
violation. and don't be stupid about it'.

we're trying to check what's happening...

ok, sorry about that - there's nothing specific.

 not with python-imaging version 1.1.5-11 it doesn't.

yes - that's the point: i had to install _both_ python-imaging _and_
 imagemagick.

 ok - i think i found it.

 python-imaging version 1.1.5-11 /var/lib/dpkg/info/python-imaging.list
 contains /usr/bin/pilconvert.py

imagemagick's .list file contains the program '/usr/bin/convert'.

remember - python-imaging is the _actual_ package - it includes code
 for both python2.3 _and_ 2.4.

i've noticed this sort of thing happening quite a bit - suddenly the
python-xxxxxxx package isn't a dummy package any more, it actually Does
 Stuff.

 anyway.

the program you are looking for, when python-imaging is installed, is
 not called /usr/bin/convert - it's called /usr/bin/pilconvert.py.
