I've changed the /etc/hosts file which now reads: 127.0.0.1 localhost 127.0.0.1 deblin.fiwwi.prv deblin Yes /etc/hosts.allow and /etc/hosts.deny Whenever I make any changes I reload as follows: /etc/init.d/nfs-common restart /etc/init.d/nfs-kernel-server restart In that order. I looked up --bind. Sorry at first I didn't realize the it was a mount option. mount --bind will work for what I doing (debootstrap a new system on a clean hard drive). Thanks. There is only one issue with mount --bind from what I understand which is that it is limited to only mount-able devices such as partitions. If I wanted to mount a sub-directory it would not work. Anyway that's not such a big deal. Did I mention that I'm use the latest version of Debian etch (testing). While writing this response I decided to do some tests since I have some time at hand. I did a fresh install of sarge and then etch on another computer. Testing each for exporting to localhost and the both worked the first try time. I can only conclude that something is screwy with my server/workstation installation that I am having the problem with. I have been upgrading it every few days with the latest etch changes. Plus I am also using the same computer to learn Debian. So I guess the bug is my doing. Can you please close this bugs. Thank you very much for your help and I hope I did not use up too much of your time with this non-existing bug. Keep up the good work and thanks for your quick response. Thank you. ********************************************************************* Steven Demetrius - --------------------------------------------------------------------- Tel: (855 12) 810 350 E-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] ********************************************************************* Steven Demetrius ©2006 ********************************************************************* Steinar H.
