I've had this problem with FC3 and still in FC5 (also another guy using
FC5 sees it).
I'm using KDE 3.5.4-0.1.fc5 Fedora-Core
Basically, it's as described earlier...It seems to work on the first new
mail indication, but after that, the summary popup works, but the icon
in the system tray does not. Changing something that causes the system
tray to "redraw" will cause the icon to be displayed (FYI, there's
always a blank space where the icon goes in the system tray.) Some
examples of causing the system tray to "redraw" are adding or removing
something like Knotes or, when I have thunderbird up, the new mail icon
extension will add it's on icon and cause the mail-notification icon to
be displayed.
Not sure what I can do to debug this, I can try if someone tells me.
