Hi, for the record I'm running the same kernel:

nvidia-kernel-2.6.9-1-686 Version: 1.0.7167-1
kernel-image-2.6.9-1-686 Version: 2.6.9-3
kernel-headers-2.6.9-1-686 Version: 2.6.9-3
...and 'nvidia-kernel-source' did compile on my system, and the resulting
'nvidia-kernel-2.6.9-1-686' package installed OK, and it works -- on my
system anyway.
