All I know is that it drives me nuts when I can't squeeze text out of PDFs for offline reading on some other device.
Mabye there should be a pdfdeballer program to strip PDFs for the general case. $ pdfdeballer < locked_up.pfg > open.pdf $ somepdfbrowser open.pdf I guess all but 'encryption' can be deballed.
