Package: gnome-panel Version: 2.14.3-2 Followup-For: Bug #184389 I'm using a dual monitor setup, using the ATI driver's "MergedFB" mode from the xserver-xorg-video-ati package.
xdpyinfo thinks I have one display and one screen, with width equal to the sum of my two monitors' widths. The Gnome desktop background goes across both. But as the original reporters of this bug said, gnome-panel only extends across one physical monitor (and has, ever since I started using this setup). I turned this into a "feature" by having two panels, one on each physical monitor, with different applets in them. Until recently, the "Window List Applet" (wnck-applet?) only showed the windows on its monitor, which worked well with two panels + two wnck-applets. But today, *each* wnck-applet lists the windows on *both* monitors, so it is much less useful. I'd rather have a single panel across both monitors, or the buggy-but-consistent behavior of limiting to one monitor, but the inconsistency between panel and applet is the worst of both.
