I don't think it is k3b- or xcdroast related.

How does you hardware look like? Are you using an USB-ATAPI converter? I
suspect a bug in the usb-storage driver but I cannot proove that.
If yes, please send the output of "lsusb -v". Please try the burn
operation with "wodim ... -vvv -VVV > /tmp/wodim.log".
Then, please give wodim suid-root permissions (chmod +s /usr/bin/wodim)
and try the same thing with >/tmp/wodim-suid.log.
Then please gzip both log files and send them to us.
