If the locale is not valid, it does give an error: % LANG=fd schroot -h E: locale::facet::_S_create_c_locale name not valid However, this does exit with an error, rather than segfaulting. Do you get any error messages prior to the segfault? If you run with --debug=notice, does this show anything else? If you run with gdb: % gdb /usr/bin/schroot (gdb) run --debug=notice [options] What do you get? If it segfaults, type (gdb) bt and let me know what is shown. (You might need to rebuild with debugging symbols to get a full backtrace. Just comment out dh_strip in debian/rules and rebuild.) > Here is my schroot.conf: > > [potato-for-jade] > description=Debian potato (unstable) > location=/m/l/potato-for-jade > #priority=3 > users=j > #groups=sbuild > root-groups=root > aliases=default This is fine.
