I've also seen this, and can not tell from the bug report if this is a problem or how to fix it if it is.
A previous post refers to a different bug, but I don't see the relation of that bug to this one, and that bug has been reassigned to fontconfig anway. I was particularly concerned because I wondered if this were a sign of, or were related to, #387928: fontconfig: Cannot write cache files.
