Sorry, but that's the view from us less sophisticated users.
If you want less sophistication, use a userspace media agent such as
HAL. That way it is all handled for you, you can hotplug and hot-unplug
media and the device creation (and maybe even mounting) will be handled
automatically.
Also say what one has to do after one writes a rule. restart udevd?
reboot? for it to take effect.
