Hello,

I am having this (or a similar) problem too, and it prevents upgrading
the package:

---
Preconfiguring packages ...
(Reading database ... 30370 files and directories currently installed.)
Preparing to replace imapproxy 1.2.4-4 (using
.../imapproxy_1.2.4-5_i386.deb) ...
Stopping IMAP proxy: invoke-rc.d: initscript imapproxy, action "stop" failed.
dpkg: warning - old pre-removal script returned error exit status 1
dpkg - trying script from the new package instead ...
Stopping IMAP proxy: invoke-rc.d: initscript imapproxy, action "stop" failed.
dpkg: error processing
/var/cache/apt/archives/imapproxy_1.2.4-5_i386.deb (--unpack):
subprocess new pre-removal script returned error exit status 1
Starting IMAP proxy: grep: /proc/8341/cmdline: No such file or directory
Failed to start imapproxy. Check logs for details.
Errors were encountered while processing:
/var/cache/apt/archives/imapproxy_1.2.4-5_i386.deb
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)
A package failed to install. Trying to recover:
Press return to continue.
---

imapproxy was working before upgrade but for some reason it is broken:

---
Sep 27 23:37:31 scruffy in.imapproxyd[8341]: main(): Failed to load CA data. Ex
iting.
---

Regardless of the reason why it can't start (I will look at it when I
am more awake tomorrow), it certainly should not cause the install to
fail.

This may be a candidate for a grave severity, but I left it at
important because I am not sure if this would happen during a fresh
install.

HTH,

George.
