If you can't read them, what's the point? It's just annoying. The sarge version did not do this. If there MUST be a progress indicator at the bottom of the screen, then use a single message with expanding dots, or something like that, so that it's readadble. OTOH, why bother? Why not revert to the sarge behaviour, and keep the status line quiet at startup. b) When searching for a package, using "n" to see the next one, and there are no more on the current screen, the next one is shown on a new screen, but at the BOTTOM. This too, is annoying. Sarge showed it at the TOP of the next screen, where it belongs.
