I don't think this is a wishlist bug because it could pose a real problem with using AleVT. My /dev/vbi did disapear today when I was experimenting with udev. No big problem, exept the error handling from AleVT. When I started AleVT from the GNOME menu nothing happend. When I started AleVT from the console I got this error: alevt: /dev/vbi: No such file or directory alevt: cannot open /dev/vbi I quickly solved it by changing the startup command to: alevt || zenity --error --text="AleVT exited with error $?.\nPlease check if /dev/vbi exists." - -- System Information: Debian Release: 3.1 Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 2.6.8-10-amd64-k8 Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=C (charmap=ANSI_X3.4-1968) Versions of packages alevt depends on: ii libc6 2.3.2.ds1-20.0.0.1.pure64 GNU C Library: Shared libraries an ii libpng12-0 1.2.8rel-1 PNG library - runtime ii libx11-6 4.3.0.dfsg.1-12 X Window System protocol client li ii makedev 2.3.1-76 creates device files in /dev ii xlibs 4.3.0.dfsg.1-12 X Keyboard Extension (XKB) configu ii zlib1g 1:1.2.2-4 compression library - runtime - -- no debconf information -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.0 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQFCNJPSSTv4ppQVDnwRAmABAKCbiCwKIfoSpMSEzzmrVN05EjoN3gCePsb6 2N668dB8YZkjR+t/iIA0NkU= =KLmw -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
