I don't think this is a wishlist bug because it could pose a real
problem with using AleVT.

My /dev/vbi did disapear today when I was experimenting with udev. No
big problem, exept the error handling from AleVT.

When I started AleVT from the GNOME menu nothing happend. When I started
AleVT from the console I got this error:
alevt: /dev/vbi: No such file or directory
alevt: cannot open /dev/vbi

I quickly solved it by changing the startup command to:
alevt || zenity --error --text="AleVT exited with error $?.\nPlease
check if /dev/vbi exists."
