That bug report was for powerpc Debian unstable..

But on my x86 machine I can't get 'open' command to work at all. Mimedb correctly identifies the files, but the "mimedb -a filename" completely fails to return anything even after I select a specific program in nautilus.

So I guess my problem is just plain buggy behavior with fish.

Not sure what is going on.

Also on unrelated side note when trying to use tab completion if you try to tab complete on a letter that doesn't have a match it will write out spurious information to the terminal.

For instance:
ls z

and there is no file beginning with z

if you hit tab then it will look like:
 ~> ls z$<100/>

But backspace and such will still act like it's just still 'ls z' there.
