# gcj bug breaks jaxme testsuite block 296117 by 388596 # jaxme blocks dom4j block 305227 by 296117 thanks
> I wonder why is the whole jaxme source uploaded to the svn [0] [1] Several reasons: 1. It's the svn format I prefer. It's convenient to have the upstream sources in svn, and branch from that to make debian-specific changes, or test new features. 2. The upstream sources needed to be modified (see README.Debian.source), hence the repacked tarball and sources need to be stored somewhere (to provide for distributed maintenance). The svn layout is similar the one described here: http://pkg-tikiwiki.alioth.debian.org/ It also describes how to build the packages from svn. > The required name would not be libjaxen-java? The source package will be called "jaxme". The binary package will be "libjaxme-java". > Also, this bug must be a blocker for dom4j[2] too, as you can see here [3] Yes, I'm tagging it now, but you can just add the tag yourself. > i'd like to coordinate efforts to get both libs uploaded. Great! There is only one problem left before I can upload jaxme, it is bug #388596 which causes the testsuite to fail horribly. Unfortunately I think it can make JaxMe unreliable for general use, so I want to get that fixed before we upload it.
