Perhaps i have the same bug as mentioned by Rudolph Pereira.
My system is a debian sarge with some latest backports.org packages.
My box is a standard Intel 1425 Server.
If i boot without console redirection it works.
If i have console redirection enabled it hangs up on boot, this is my
serial console output:
