I've just committed a patch in the vim package implementing the support you request for ruby files (using 'ri') and perl files (using 'perldoc'). In fact I had the support for perl files in my ~/.vim since ages, I've simply never thought about letting my support in the vim package :-), thanks for suggesting the idea! I quickly tried to mock up something for python, but I haven't a working solution yet (that's why I'm tagging +help this bug report). The idea for python would be to create something on the line of: echo help('<KEYWORD>') | python But it would be definitely better to have a program to be invoked. Maybe we can create a wrapper to do this? ...
