Interesting, I tried to reproduce this bug, but failed. Basically I created a clean changeroot with debootstrap and installed the package inside it. And it just worked (well I needed to install libgl1-mesa-glx, but that's an other issue). So it seems not to be a problem with the dependencies. So speculations are open for problems with libsdl-ttf2.0-0 and/or libfreetype6?
