I see. Unfortunately, upstream's way for handling these is to require
a backtrace (or core dump), preferably from a debug-mode build.

This is not an easy task, even for people experienced with firebird. I
could try it, but have no access to a sparc machine (still in NM)

Looking at developer list archives, there were people trying to build
firebird in linux/sparc (years ago), but no success stories. The
source, however, seems to be prepared. There must be some
incompleteness in detecting linux/sparc combination or some such.
