Since console-setup-udeb also uses the init script I am changing a bit your patch. Now the init scripts will source /lib/lsb/init-functions conditionaly - only if this file exists. Otherwise the scripts will use their own versions of log_action_begin_msg and log_action_end_msg. I also changed the strong dependency on lsb-base to suggestion.
