The standalone pwc module includes the uncompressor thingy which is not present in the kernel included one. There is as userland uncompressor in the work, but it is apparently not yet fully stabilized, so this pwc module which Victor packages, if installed, diverts the kernel one or something such, at least this was the case the last time i thought about it.
