Package: xvnc4viewer
Version: 4.1.1+X4.3.0-17
Severity: normal

This is similar to bug #386404, but whereas that bug seems to have
been solved, this one is still open for me as of package version 17.

When connecting from my Debian laptop (xvnc4viewer) to a Windows 2000
Server (RealVNC, latest version), terminal entry of passwords fails
for any password of length 0 to 7. Lengths 8 and 9 (and presumably
longer) appear to work fine. GUI password entry always works fine.

Note that my laptop runs Dvorak as a keyboard layout, if that makes a
difference. However, the passwords I used to test (every length from
1 to 9) were simply sequences of the letter 'a', which is the same on
both layouts. I also generally work inside 'screen' in a urxvt, but I
tested from a plain urxvt and had the same issue.

Also note that '0' is not a typo. Length 0 passwords suffer the same
issue; they work in the GUI but not in the terminal. (This is not to
be confused with 'no authentication', which does not prompt for a
password at all.)
