Yes, I agree completely, and started work on that yesterday.

However, #359855 has me stymied.  It happens reliably for my pbuilder
on x386, and without a fix, there's not much I can do.  Fixing it is
out of my league; I am nowhere near knowing postscript, nor what bugs
gs might have.  I sent a ping to the gs-gpl maintainer; among other
things, the latest stable version of gs is now GPLd (it used to be
that only old versions were GDLd).  However, evidence is that the
gs-gpl maintainer doesn't really do much with his packages, and I am
not sanguine about getting a reply back.

I would appreciate any advice you have to offer...
