Package: locales Version: 2.3.6.ds1-4 Severity: normal
I have updated locales package from 2.3.6-15 to 2.3.6.ds1-4 and this drop /etc/environment file and create /etc/default/locale file. Is that right? I have some personal programs that use /etc/environment, I will updated its, but can exists others programs that use yet /etc/environment. Before, to solve some problems, like as /etc/init.d/gdm, I have created a symlink ln -s /etc/enviroment /etc/default/enviroment, which did contain LANGUAGE variable and now /etc/default/locale does not contain this. The /etc/default/locale would have to contain variable LANGUAGE? Sugest: /etc/default/locale would hava contain variable LANGUAGE and /etc/environment would be a symlink to /etc/default/locale. -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing') Architecture: i386 (i686) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.16-2-686 Locale: LANG=pt_BR.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=pt_BR.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Versions of packages locales depends on: ii debconf [debconf-2.0] 1.5.3 Debian configuration management sy ii libc6 [glibc-2.3.6.ds1-1] 2.3.6.ds1-4 GNU C Library: Shared libraries locales recommends no packages. -- debconf information: * locales/default_environment_locale: pt_BR.UTF-8 * locales/locales_to_be_generated: pt_BR.UTF-8 UTF-8, en_US.UTF-8 UTF-8, en_US ISO-8859-1, en_US.ISO-8859-15 ISO-8859-15, es_ES.UTF-8 UTF-8, es_ES ISO-8859-1, [EMAIL PROTECTED] ISO-8859-15, pt_BR ISO-8859-1, pt_PT.UTF-8 UTF-8, pt_PT ISO-8859-1, [EMAIL PROTECTED] ISO-8859-15 -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
