Reading Heather's bug report, it would appear that an alternative solution would be to create a virtual package which conflicts the unwanted package, then hold the virtual package.
So long as that package remains on the system, the unwanted package won't be installed. If an upgrade wants to break the hold, the user is warned. Heather: 2.5 years later, would this work ;-) Peace. -- Karsten M. Self <kmself@ix.netcom.com> http://kmself.home.netcom.com/ What Part of "Gestalt" don't you understand?
