Hi,
This is a request I'm forwarding which also relates to the latest issue with
-d using courier-authlib. If we had another option for $HOME, that would
probably fix everything for those people who want it.
I noticed that:
-D uuu/ggg
This option is reserved for use by the version of maildrop that
comes integrated with the Courier mail server.
Perhaps -H?
-D is only available in the version of maildrop that's compiled in the
Courier package, and is not enabled in the standalone version of maildrop.
These options carry certain security implications that I am not comfortable
with. If you know what you're doing, you can easily patch maildrop
yourself, but I don't want to accept the onus of something like this on my
shoulders, and end up wearing egg on my face.

Subject: Bug#375589: please add option to specify $HOME and circumvent
maildrop's lookup
Package: maildrop
Severity: wishlist
I want to call maildrop from postfix, and due to the complex setup,
I just want to pass $HOME to maildrop for virtual users and let it
do its thing. However, the only way to specify a destination seems
to be -d.
How about a -D option taking a $HOME directory, and maildrop then
delivering according to $HOME/.mailfilter?
