Package: libsundials-serial-dev Version: 2.2.0-1 Severity: grave Justification: renders package unusable
The libsundials-nvecserial shared and static library files, and the header file nvector_serial.h are missing, making it unusable for development in C due to unresolved symbols (e.g., N_VNew_Serial, etc.). A cursory investigation has shown that the required files are generated from the source package when the upstream build procedure is followed, but don't appear under debian/tmp/ when the package is built with dpkg-buildpackage. I'm unable to propose a patch. On a possibly related note, linking with kinsol gives the strange warning, libtool: link: warning: library `/usr/lib/gcc/i486-linux-gnu/4.1.2/../../../ /libsundials_kinsol.la' was moved. which might have something to do with the part in libsundials_kinsol.la that says # Directory that this library needs to be installed in: libdir='/root/sundials/sundials/debian/tmp/usr/lib' instead of saying /usr/lib/sundials. -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.17-2-686 Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=C (charmap=ANSI_X3.4-1968) Versions of packages libsundials-serial-dev depends on: ii libsundials-serial0 2.2.0-1 SUit of Nonlinear and DIfferential libsundials-serial-dev recommends no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
