Hello. Thanks for taking a look into this. All that's needed is to
install the .desktop in /usr/share/applications/xmaxima.desktop and the
icon in /usr/share/pixmaps/maxima-icon.png (unfortunately the
/usr/share/doc/xmaxima/
location doesn't work - you'll have to create a symlink or duplicate the icon).
