Very common suggestion but currently not the way tasksel is designed. The "sound not working" issue is also somethign that happens frequently. It seems that noone in Debian really worked to make this work a little bit more out of the box (sound is anyway a nightmare in Linux since ages with something like 4 generations of various ways to handle it). Was ALSA stuff installed, at least?
