Package: mysql-server-5.0 Version: 5.0.24-1 Severity: wishlist As far as I can tell using gmemusage, by default, right after install, mysql-server-5.0 will be reported using more than 100 Mb in mem.
If I just disable InnoDB with skip-innodb in my.cnf, I then get an around 40 Mb figure. Is InnoDB really worth activated by default, if it eats so much memory ? I've seen that in the changelog : mysql-dfsg-4.1 (4.1.9-2) * Enabled InnoDB by default as recommended by Arjen Lentz from MySQL. However, I would guess that keeping innodb distributed but disableing it by default in the conf file would be a better choice for standard install. Comments welcome.
