Package: x11-common Version: 1:7.0.22 Severity: minor On my system "file /usr/bin/X" reports: /usr/bin/X: setuid setgid ELF 32-bit LSB executable, Intel 80386, version 1 (SYSV), for GNU/Linux 2.4.1, dynamically linked (uses shared libs), for GNU/Linux 2.4.1, not stripped
Applying strip reduces the size of the file to about the half. In case this is intended for some reason, it is not documented in /usr/share/doc/x11-common/* Also note, that Policy 10.1 says, that "... by default all installed binaries should be stripped ..."
