Package: netselect
Version: 0.3.ds1-8
When I try, as root, using the gnome-terminal, to run either netselect,
or netselect apt, the response is always "sendto: Operation not permitted":
debian:/home/mark# netselect ftp://mirror.direct.ca/pub/linux/debian/
http://debian.yorku.ca/debian/ ftp://ftp3.nrc.ca/debian/
ftp://gulus.usherbrooke.ca/debian/ ftp://mirror.cpsc.ucalgary.ca/debian/
ftp://debian.mirror.cygnal.ca/debian/
netselect: unknown host debian.mirror.cygnal.ca
sendto: Operation not permitted

Running "netselect-apt" is worse, as it just never stops. There is no
printed sources.list created in the directory in which I'm running the
command. This is only recent, as it did work quite well when I first
used it a while back.
I'm using Debian Etch, Linux kernel 2.6.16-2-486 image
