can you please downgrade mozilla-firefox to the current stable release
(e.g. not from security) and see if that helps?
I installed firefox and mozilla from a debian sarge DVD.
Firefox with version:
Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7.8) Gecko/20050517
Firefox/1.0.4 (Debian package 1.0.4-2)
And Mozilla suite:
Mozilla 1.7.8
Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7.8) Gecko/20050513
Debian/1.7.8-1
also segfault. Behaviour is the same for Mozilla and Firefox.
