Package: iputils-ping Version: 3:20020927-3 Severity: important Tags: patch
netkit-base (netkit-ping) is due for removal from unstable and testing (see #383960). Please could you provide a transitional package to ensure netkit-ping users are upgraded to iputils-ping when they upgrade to etch? This could be as simple as adding the following to debian/control: Package: netkit-inetd Architecture: any Section: net Depends: iputils-ping (>= ${Source-Version}) Description: The ping utility from netkit (transitional package) This is a transitional package to migrate existing users of netkit-inetd to iputils-ping (its successor). It may be safely removed after upgrading.
