Moving the <?xml ?> tag to line 1 should fix it. $ apt-file search democracy.xml democracyplayer-data: usr/share/mime/packages/democracy.xml Obviously not a OOo bug but one of democracyplayer-data. (You probably only saw it at a openoffice.org-common upgrade because openoffice.org-common runs update-mime etc which looks after this.. Regards, Rene
