> module-assistant auto-build nvidia-kernel-legacy Try m-a auto-install nvidia-kernel-legacy-source ^^^^^^^ instead (see http://wiki.debian.org/NvidiaGraphicsDrivers )
This will at least get you some module-building action, but unfortunately, with the version of nvidia-kernel-legacy source in testing at the moment, and the 2.6.16 kernel, you get a some fairly fatal looking build error from the compiler (missing struct member), which maybe explains why there aren't any stock nvidia-kernel-legacy packages for 2.6.16 currently (see "No stock nvidia-kernel-legacy..." thread on debian-testing@lists.debian.org ). (Me, I'm probably just going to wait for the 2.6.17 kernel, currently appearing in sid, which does seem to be accompanied by built nvidia-kernel-legacy modules).
