Package: gnome-panel Version: 2.14.3-1 Severity: normal Initially my gnome-panel (the one showing Applications Places Desktop etc) is expanded along the top of the screen, with the menu entries aligned from the left hand side. This way I know I can always get to the Applications menu by throwing the mouse up towards the top-left corner of the screen. There is an empty gap in the centre with a Notification Area on the far right side.
Playing with Panel Properties, I unclick Expand and the entries get lined up tight-packed in a movable panel in the centre of the screen, which is fine. Then I click Expand again to get back to the original state, and now to my chagrin I see all the menu entries have got themselves pushed over to the right. The empty space is on the left and the Applications menu ends somewhere vaguely in the middle, making it trouble to go straight to it. I want the menu entries back on the left again.
