It is the gettext fuzzy algorithm. If it helps, here is a de.po without these fuzzy matches (I removed the fuzzied proposals for the <option>...</option> and other strings which are clearly not helpful when translating). It would probably help Tomasz if you first translate the manpages with an existing (but outdated) translation: su.1, login.1, chfn.1, chsh.1, newgrp.1, passwd.5, vipw.8, vigr.8, groups.1 (While translating these pages, you may want to look at these existing translations) Cheers, -- Nekral
