tags 378490 +pending thanks I thought I'd update this bug as my previous email turned out to be inaccurate in that the config.gui.ini file does work. Until the next version gets uploaded, you can use the config file to specify the gui settings.
What I discovered in tackling this bug, is that the btdownloadgui program saves the settings you used for the torrent. So, when you reopen the same torrent, the previous settings get reloaded, overriding anything on the commandline or in the config.gui.ini file (which is why I thought config file wasn't working). To test whether changes to the commandline or config file options are working, you need to open a fresh torrent (or clear out your ~/.BitTornado/datacahe folder). None of the commandline parameters for the gui were being used at all, which I've fixed for the next release.
