the problem may exists in unstable too. in the postinstall script : yes_bitmaps="yes_bitmaps.conf" should be: yes_bitmaps="yes-bitmaps.conf" This lead to : cat: /etc/fonts/conf.d/30-debconf-yes_bitmaps.conf: No such file or directory Sorry i did not check other bug reports in details. I guess it explains some of them. In the manpage, I guess : "If a directory, every file within that directory starting with a number will be processed in sorted order." means that only the symlinks (that have a number ) are processed. Else the symlinks would only inlcude the same data a second time in fonts.conf. But even with the above broken symlink i got bitmapped fonts ... And the above explanation is mileading : For a french native speaker at least this is a non obvious statement : it would mean that every file in a directory are processed and those starting with a number are processed in sorted order. I feel i have a good understanding of english and it seems to methis statement carry the same meaning in english. This statement carry too much information : include can process directories, only files starting with a number are processed, they are in sorted order. In french (and most latin languages) adding a comma after "processed" would be enough to fix this. In english i feel this cannot be handled in one statement. Is my english bogus or the statement ? (i am not a linguist in any way). Could you split it if the former ?
