Package: debian sarge
Version: 3.01, AMD64
I have just bought the 'official' DVDs for installing Debian Sarge on an AMD64
system. It installs OK but I cannot get a desktop.
auto recognise screen failed
selected ATI in subsequent screen
then it says that the X configuration is wrong. i have re-installed it trying
various options for the
graphics card to no avail. The graphics card is:
ATI radeon x700 rv410
the monitor is:
sony SDM x73
any help would be much appreciated as I ma trying to migrate from SUSE as
Debain has better 'academic' software systems.
