Package: postfix Version: 2.3.2-1 Severity: normal Hi,
when using logcheck (debian package logcheck) heaps of plain postfix log messages are reported since usual syslogd.conf files contain a line of the type *.*;auth,authpriv.none -/var/log/syslog This causes postfix logs to be added to syslog. Therefore, each debian package of programs logging to syslog should come with a configuration file in /etc/logcheck which tells which log messages to ignore. regards Hadmut -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.17-andromeda Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=de_DE (charmap=ISO-8859-1) Versions of packages postfix depends on: ii adduser 3.95 Add and remove users and groups ii debconf [debconf-2.0] 1.5.2 Debian configuration management sy ii dpkg 1.13.22 package maintenance system for Deb ii libc6 2.3.6-15 GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii libdb4.3 4.3.29-5 Berkeley v4.3 Database Libraries [ ii libsasl2 2.1.19.dfsg1-0.2 Authentication abstraction library ii libssl0.9.8 0.9.8b-2 SSL shared libraries ii lsb-base 3.1-10 Linux Standard Base 3.1 init scrip ii netbase 4.25 Basic TCP/IP networking system ii ssl-cert 1.0.13 Simple debconf wrapper for openssl Versions of packages postfix recommends: ii emacs21 [mail-re 21.4a-6 The GNU Emacs editor ii evolution [mail- 2.6.2-4 groupware suite with mail client a ii kmail [mail-read 4:3.5.3-3 KDE Email client ii mailx [mail-read 1:8.1.2-0.20050715cvs-1 A simple mail user agent ii mutt [mail-reade 1.5.12-1 text-based mailreader supporting M pn resolvconf <none> (no description available) ii thunderbird [mai 1.5.0.4-3 standalone mail client based on mo -- debconf information excluded -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
