did you try this? you will find a similar config in the doc-directory of the synaptics-driver. i had the same problems. since i have changed it to that:
Section "InputDevice" Identifier "Alps Glidepoint" Driver "synaptics" Option "SendCoreEvents" "true" Option "Device" "/dev/psaux" Option "Protocol" "auto-dev" Option "LeftEdge" "120" Option "RightEdge" "830" Option "TopEdge" "120" Option "BottomEdge" "650" Option "FingerLow" "14" Option "FingerHigh" "15" Option "MaxTapTime" "180" Option "MaxTapMove" "110" Option "EmulateMidButtonTime" "75" Option "HorizScrollDelta" "0" Option "VertScrollDelta" "20" Option "MinSpeed" "0.3" Option "MaxSpeed" "0.75" Option "AccelFactor" "0.015" Option "EdgeMotionMinSpeed" "200" Option "EdgeMotionMaxSpeed" "200" Option "UpDownScrolling" "1" Option "SHMConfig" "on" EndSection everything works fine. horizontal scrolling is disabled since it happens many times that my pointing is interpreted as horizontal scrolling. this is anoing when using firefox or other browsers; my touchpad is rather small. synaptics and alps touchpads have different resolutions! your problems seem to be alsp-specific, i guess! hopefully that helps regards! -- well, though i think i can't fix that problem, but i believe i can make a workaround! ********************* curt manucredo [EMAIL PROTECTED] i can not sit all the time in front of this stupid thing! -- a proud debian-user and wannabe-developer http://hansycm.blogspot.com -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
