I downgrade the severity as I could not reproduce this bug and nobody else
reported it.
Can you retry the installation by typing:
script
export DEBIAN_SCRIPT_DEBUG=1
export LC_ALL=C
sudo apt-get install mysql-server-5.0
..
exit
And send me the resulting "typescript" file so that I can see what exactly
happened?
