This is an i386 system (linux kernel 2.6.10). I have tried it both in an xterm running in X on my local desktop machine and also by sshing from my desktop into another machine. I get the same effect in both cases, these are definitely not slow connections though. > With zile-2.0.1-1 I can get a similar (but non-random) bug by running > zile in the console: whenever I press a cursor key, \34 is inserted in > the buffer; holding down the key causes it to navigate normally, but > exactly one \34 is inserted for each cursor key stroke.
