This is an i386 system (linux kernel 2.6.10). I have tried it both in
an xterm running in X on my local desktop machine and also by sshing
from my desktop into another machine. I get the same effect in both
cases, these are definitely not slow connections though.

Running zile on the console I don't see any problems at all with input
from the cursors.
