Um, did you read what I wrote in my report? "There _is_ a group called "nogroup" in /etc/group" (emphasis added) Just to be sure, here's a grep: $ grep nogroup /etc/group nogroup:x:65534: The problem is that there _is_ a group called that, but the useradd is still failing.
