GShare's daemon won't start unless the Avahi service is running. There is no 
mention of this requirement in the docs, in the package description or even in 
the list of packages it recommends or depends on. In fact, I'm not completely 
sure of what the Avahi service is, I guess it means the Avahi daemon.

I'll get it installed and see if that helps.
